Dion Plans Return to Vegas Stage
Celine Dion, one of the world’s most successful chanteuses, has confirmed reports that she plans to return to the Las Vegas stage for a brand new show next year. Dion is the world’s top earner in album and concert sales over the past decade, surpassing many industry greats. One thing she has lamented in previous concert runs, however, is how little time she gets to spend with her kids. This time around she constructed the run around her son’s school schedule.
Dion’s husband, Rene Angélil, is also her manager, credited for helping an already successful career reach soaring heights. They exchanged lavish diamond rings for their wedding ceremony in 1994, but the singer has been spotted with recent upgrades in 2009.
The couple hope to have a special new addition of a brand new baby boy when the show kicks off on March 15th, 2011. The singer declared to People, “I’ll balance my showbiz life with my most important job: motherhood.”
Of the planned 2011 concert, the singer says she plans to play all the songs people want to hear from her repertoire, plus some new arrangements from classic Hollywood movies. “I just love the big orchestra and the beautiful black-and-white movies and romance.”
Dion plans for the three-year residency to commence at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in 2011.
