Before exchanging wedding rings, a bridal shower can be the perfect occasion for a themed party that can be fun and family-friendly, and a great way to get some much-needed gifts. It’s an occasion to “shower” the bride with love. The notion of the “shower” dates back to the sixteenth century when many couples had nothing but their love to sustain them. Friends and family would “shower” them with gifts to help them start their new life together. Bridal showers should be a combination of things that the bride really loves. On the invitation you might write down the name of a country and then have each guest bring a nice bottle of wine from that country.
