Industry legend David Kwiat Dies at age 94

David Kwiat Dies at 94Like every industry, such as entertainment or business, there are those who stick out as legends of their craft. The diamond industry is no different, and sadly this last week we lost one of our own. David Kwiat had been in the diamond industry since 1933, when he joined at the young age of 17. The son of Sam Kwait, the founder of Kwiat Jewelry, enjoyed the family business and his integrity and attention to detail helped Kwiat Jewelry become the success it is today.

Having built a reputation with the help of  his extensive diamond inventory, his client list grew rapidly, with this Harry Winston came knocking. The business his father had started had  become well known, and had joined the big leagues. Kwiat’s two sons, Sheldon and Lowell followed their father’s footsteps into the business and put in the hard work to keep it where it is today. Kwiat was very close to his family and had an active role within it. His love for diamonds and dedication to business would always come second to his family.

David Kwiat was 94. He is survived by his wife Shirley, his three children, Sheldon, Lowell, Carol, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
