McNary’s Jewelry store has been in the business for 110 years. The store located in downtown Pennsylvania is now selling off all its inventory. Joe Ames, 88, and his wife Margaret said the space will be converted into law offices. Ames made the heartbreaking decision after realizing that a lot of the profit coming in was not from selling new pieces but from repair. Many downtown competitors closed their doors a while back, including Taper’s and S.A. Myers. The store opened in 1900, Ames purchased the building from his Aunt in 1943 after working in the store six years.
