David Schwimmer Engaged: A Friend engaged

Former “Friends” star David Schwimmer, 43, just announced his engagement with the much younger London-based photographer, Zoe Buckman, who is 24. Schwimmer played Dr. Ross Gellar on the hot sitcom, and one of the plotlines was always whether Ross and Rachel, played by superstar Jennifer Aniston, would ever fall in love and get married. Schwimmer and Buckman met in London in 2007 while he was directing the flick, Run Fatboy Run. While paparazzi cameras have been peeled for shots of engagement rings, none of have been spotted just yet. But, considering the cast of Friends was making a million dollars each per episode during the last season, we can expect the ring to be impressive.

The news comes on the heels of Aniston’s press tour for The Bounty Hunter. When David Letterman asked about the engagement, Aniston responded that she had no clue who he got engaged to.

The engagement news has caused some bloggers to note that the wedding would effectively be a “Friends” reunion if all stars showed up, especially the more high profile ones like Aniston and Courtney Cox, now starring in her own hit sitcom, Cougar Town.  Whenever the wedding is, it will surely be widely covered if the entire cast of “Friends” shows up.

Gerard Butler’s “Win a Date With Me” Contest

Surprise, surprise—ladies man Gerard Butler is offering himself up for a dinner date to one lucky bidder. But that doesn’t mean his eye isn’t still on Jennifer Aniston…he just may be looking in a lot of other places, as well. The dinner date raffle is to benefit a charity chosen by Butler, Kids Kicking Cancer. The announcement on the star’s web site reads “Gerard Butler dot net is giving YOU the opportunity to ENJOY a DATE with GERARD BUTLER”. And, of course, the raffle will take place on Valentine’s Day.

This lucky date comes at a time when the star has been constantly linked to tabloid-cover maven, Jennifer Aniston. Naturally romance rumors are perenially swooning around both stars, though there have been no engagement rings spotted yet! Aniston may have reason to be just a tad bit concerned, though, as Butler has recently been spotted kissing a street performer after a boozy night out. Maybe just to keep tabs on him, Aniston invited Butler to her 41st birthday party in Mexico last week.

But this lucky date is for a good cause and the charity will surely be happy to have Butler’s generous contribution. So far, his “win a date with me” contest has raised $56,590 and counting. Aniston just might want to be seated at another table to make sure things stay cordial.

Quiet Romance for Aniston and Butler?

Jennifer Aniston is not keeping her affection secret for Bounty Hunter costar, Gerard Butler, secret.  Butler, 40, known in Hollywood as quite the ladies man, joined a large group of Aniston’s friends and inner circle for her birthday bash in Los Cabos, Mexico, this past week.  Tabloids have had a hard time not noticing.  The pair were joined at the hip for nearly all of January’s Golden Globes.   Not that there will be any engagement rings anytime soon. “We just had so much fun [making the movie] together, you know.  He’s just fun.  Gerry’s the most unpretentious guy.” Aniston told Access Hollywood in a multi-part interview.  If there is a romance, it is certainly on the low burner.

The getaway to Mexico didn’t help quell speculation of a romance between the two. The A-Listers looked fabulous as they sipped champagne next to the pool with close friends, Courtney Cox and Sheryl Crow.

Aniston was spotted wearing a mismatched brown and pink bikini while Butler lounged around in light blue shorts.  It seemed a perfect affair for a romantic getaway, unless Aniston is simply keen to stay on tabloid covers, which she has dominated for years with speculation and heartbreak surrounding her romantic life.

At the Golden Globes, the pair were often seen canoodling and kissing, according to some event organizers, who couldn’t help but gossip about the obvious PDA’s on their walkie-talkies.  They were later pictured gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes at the Hope For Haiti Now event.  Will this mean another year of cover stories looking forward to wedding bells for Aniston?
