Bullock is Moving On!

Sandra Bullock shocked the public today by featuring herself smiling and holding a baby on the cover of People Magazine. Announcing her new adoption, Bullock had kept her adopted baby a secret for the past three months he’s been with her. Bullock also cleared up where she stands with Jesse James after being photographed this week with her wedding rings off: “Yes, I have filed for divorce”, adding that she was “sad and scared”.

Sandra’s baby news is perhaps the surprise triumph that the public was hoping for with the actress. Appearing on the cover of People this week holding 3 1/2 month old Louis Bardo Bullock, she appeared happy and fulfilled. There’s also no sign that the divorce will be anything but amicable. The actress filed for divorce on April 23 in Austin, Texas, where she has a secluded home.

Bullock also insists that her new son will also have strong ties to New Orleans. “Without the spirit of the people who live there and take care of the city and honor its traditions, its love for music, its love for life, take those people out and you don’t have why I love New Orleans so much.” Bullock had been doing significant good deeds for the city ever since Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005, including becoming a major supporter of the Warren Easton Charter High School and establishing a $10,000 scholarship. The Oscar winner also purchased a home in the beautiful Garden District of the city.

Sandra Bullock’s Wedding Ring Is Off

The first pictures have been released of Sandra Bullock since the Jesse James sex scandal. The Oscar Winner was photographed in Northern California and showed the actress in a low-key ensemble, hiking and drinking coffee. Bullock managed to arrange for photo agency Getty to take the snapshots, thus avoiding the possibility of paparazzi making millions off of any post-scandal pics. The photos were sold for $60,000 to Entertainment Tonight, who will air them soon. And rumor has it that the pics show Bullock without her designer engagement ring.

Bullock had moved out of the home she shared with James only days before the scandal broke, where he allegedly a prolonged affair with a tattoo model.  The timing of the  news had been especially bittersweet since Bullock had won the Best Actress Oscar only weeks earlier.

We doubt the multi-millionaire actress will even miss the Neil Lane wedding ring that James gave her.  The two had married in a rustic ceremony in 2005, where guests sat on bails of hay and the wedding featured a “hoedown” theme.  Bullock herself had even learned to do metal work in order to fashion James’ handcrafted ring in his bike shop.  No word yet on if the pair will officially divorce.

‘Bullock is Out of There!’

A close friend revealed this week that Sandra Bullock has been in seclusion working with attorneys, who were preparing to file papers for her divorce from philandering Jesse James. As more tabloid revelations revealed that James had hooked up with several women other than the tattoo-loving “Bombshell” McGee, Bullock must have been more than ready to take off her Neil Lane wedding rings and move on. Only weeks ago, Bullock was honored with the prestigious Best Actress Oscar for her work in The Blind Side.

Though there have been reports that Bullock would seek joint custody of James’ children, Bullock’s rep was quick to shoot down such false reports. “There are no plans, nor have there been any plans, for Sandra Bullock to adopt any of Jesse James’ children.” Friends of both Bullock and James say that the children’s welfare is of paramount importance to both Bullock and James.

Bullock left the home the couple share just days before the affair allegations hit the newsstands. She has been in seclusion since then.

Jesse James Hoping for Reconciliation with Bullock

Struggling with a “bombshell” of explosive infidelity details, Jesse James is praying for a reconciliation with Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock.  No one knows  what to expect in terms of a response form the actress, although it is reported that she left the house shared with James just days before the allegations hit the news stands.

Jesse James and Sandra Bullock James is reportedly spending every free moment with his children”, a friend has said, “taking them to school and doing the things they love to do, so this doesn’t disrupt their lives too much.”  The children are from James’ previous marriages and include daughters Chandler, 15, and Sunny, 6, and son, Jesse Jr., 12.  Bullock, though acting as stepmom, has often said in interviews how she treats the kids as her own.

James also reportedly “would love for this somehow to go away and that somehow things can be rectified and put back together.” A friend said.

So will this mean the wedding rings are off for Bullock?  James and Bullock were married in 2005 in a rustic ceremony where they exchanged rings.  He gave her an exclusive Neil Lane diamond ring, while Bullock offered James a steel ring she ahd made herself.

The Oscar Curse

An Oscar win is surely every actress’ dream, but might soon become every actresses nightmare.  The Best Actress category is now being called a romantic curse by Industry insiders who are noting the trend of splits and divorces following Best Actresses winners just after they get the Oscar. Check out this roll call of romantic ruin from the past decade to see why some actresses might be clutching their wedding rings and opt out of the Best Actress race next year.

gwyneth paltrow Gwyneth Paltrow. She won for “Shakespeare in Love” in 1999 and was deep in love with Oscar winner, Ben Affleck. But it only took two months for the Oscar couple to break up and fall out of love.
Hillary Swank Hillary Swank. Swank won in 2000 for her groundbreaking performance in “Boys Don’t Cry”, and would later win for “Million Dollar Baby”. But it didn’t take long for her and Chad Lowe to break up after her second Oscar. Right after she called her husband “her everything” at the Oscars, they divorced.
Julia Roberts Julia Roberts. Winning for “Erin Brokovich” in 2001 may have put this actress back on the map, but this actresses love life has been all over the place. Marital Trouble for Sandra Bullock?

Oscar winner Sandra Bullock recently announced through her rep that she would cancel plans to attend the London premiere and press junket for The Blind Side “due to unforeseen circumstances”.   Warner Bros. then decided to scrap plans for the UK premiere altogether.  The news comes amid several reports of marital trouble between Bullock and her husband, biker and Discovery Channel star, Jesse James. Bullock has also been spotted since the Oscars with her wedding rings off.

While James definitely was a strong supporter for Bullock and accompanied her on every red carpet as she swept through the awards season, there were rumors of an affair between the Monster Garage star and the heavily tatted Michelle “Bombshell” McGee.   “Bombshell” told In Touch magazine this week that she and James were hooking up for the past five months, while James was still married to Bullock.  “He gave me the impression they were separated.  I would never have hooked up with him if I thought he was a married man.”  She told In Touch that James and her were getting it on once a week while Bullock was in Atlanta shooting The Blind Side.

No word yet from Bullock’s camp regarding the marital trouble allegations.

Sandra Bullock’s Husband: “She Takes My Breath Away”

At last week’s Oscars, Jesse James was happy to support wife Sandra Bullock. And the stuntman insisted he’s as happy to support as she is to be there for him.  The stuntman husband explained “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to support my wife and her work.  She does it all the time for me.  She goes to Mexico, to the desert, to the hospital–a lot–to support me and my work.  The least I can do is put on a suit and support her.”

James gushed at how beautiful his wife looked in her beaded Marchesa gown.  “She’s old-school Hollywood–just gracious and a star who’s so much better than you expect them to be.”

The happy pair wed in 2005 at a wedding with “a vintage western barbecue feel”.   Wedding guests sat on hay stacks with horse blankets and the pair walked down the aisle to a recording of Sandra mother, who died earlier in the decade, singing “Casta Diva”.  James gave Sandra a Neil Lane-crafted piece with a “You an Me” theme, with intertwined diamonds and utilized one of the very popular pave settings. Meanwhile Bullock constructed James’ ring herself using stainless steel at James’ bike shop.

Oscar Night Jewelry

Stars opted for old-school Hollywood glamour on the red carpet at the Oscars on Sunday.  Many of the nominated actresses sashayed down the red carpet in platinum or silver gowns.

It was perhaps Kate Winslet, last year’s Best Actress winner, who stole the night with her gown and jewels.  She wore a silver strapless column dress by Yves St Laurent and a pendant style necklace of emerald cut white and yellow diamonds by Tiffany with matching diamond earrings and cuff.  The entire jewelry ensemble is believed to be valued at $2.5 million dollars.

This year’s Best Actress winner, Sandra Bullock, wore a silver beaded gown by designer Marchesa and forties style makeup.  As the awards season favorite, Bullock certainly had her share of jewelry designers to choose from.  Bullock ultimately chose to wear minimal jewelry, but did receive a special good-luck charm from Leigh Anne Tuohy, the real-life woman that Bullock portrays in The Blind Side.  Tuohy asked eco-friendly jewelry company Alex and Ani to create a special set of their Signature Expandable Bangles to “say we love and you good luck” for the Oscar-winner’s big night.

Nominee and past winner Dame Helen Mirren chose a dress of silvery tones by Badgley Mischka, accessorized with diamond jewelry by the well-respected French designer, House of Chopard.

Word on the street is that wearing your big engagement ring is so yesterday. Now many brides are going for simple, understated wedding bands that give off a classic, yet understated feel.
“Why go around with a massive diamond on your hand.” Wedding blogger Claudia Copquin has noted. “There’s no need to make any kind of statement.”

A recent story in the New York Post asked brides how they felt about their ostentatious engagement bling. While many said they were happy to get it, they also noted that the glam might be a little bit too much.

The recession could be to blame for the backlash. After all, not long ago many brides were happy as a clam to flash their huge rocks. But one concerned bride told the New York Post she felt concerned after some of her coworkers comments. “Some said it looked just as blingy as the other recently engaged girl in the office who had been sporting a tacky, over-the-top zirconium as a place holder while her custom rings were being made.”

So you may want to reconsider wearing the huge diamond solitaire engagement rings or three stone rings.  Even Hollywood heavyweights like Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock are choosing their understated wedding bands over the big shiny engagement rings.

Still No Oscar Gown and Jewels for Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock isn’t too concerned about finding the perfect gown and jewelry to wear to the Oscars.  She admitted this week that she still doesn’t know what she plans to wear to the ceremony, for which she’s considered the front-runner to win the Best Actress Oscar.

sandra bullockAt this week’s Oscar Nominees Luncheon, a prestigious photo-op event in and of itself, Bullock confided to reporters, “I’m so behind.  Today was the first day that I actually saw one dress and then looked at some sketches.”

Bullock is nominated this year for her role in the football drama, The Blind Side.  She is very clear that she puts her confidence in her coterie of designers, leaving them to make the dress and jewelry decisions look stunning.  “I’m pretty good about finding something and sort of circling around it and then I’m oddly relaxed about it because it’s someone else’s job to finely stitch thousands of pleats and jewels into a gorgeous thing to make you look divine.”

Bullock is known for her massive appeal to audiences across the globe.  She has a broad spectrum of supporters in Hollywood and the Academy, who consider Hollywood’s “nice girl”.  She is massively understated, also, when it comes to finding her Oscar gown and jewels.  “Look, if I have to wear a trash bag  I’ll belt it with rhinestones and I’ll make it work…But the one thing I saw, that’s a work of art.”  Everyone’s waiting to see what designers Bullock chooses.
