Sarah Silverman: I Believe in Love

Funny lady Sarah Silverman is still looking for love after her seven year relationship with comedian Jimmy Kimmel.  “We were together for so long and tried our best to make it work.  I can think of him now and don’t have that edgy feeling anymore.  I just love him to pieces.”  Silverman and Kimmel dated from 2002 to 2009 and Silverman made some very funny, but awkward appearances on Kimmel’s show after the relationship ended.

Silverman adds: “Sometimes loving each other isn’t enough.  You have to be responsible for your own happiness.  You can’t stay in a relationship because you’re afraid of the unknown.  But I will always loving him.  Sometimes I think maybe we’ll die together in our old age or something.”

And though they were together for years, Kimmel and Silverman never had any plans to exchange wedding rings.  Silverman reportedly has a long-standing aversion to the whole marriage idea.  “I’m a vegetarian, but I don’t have aproblem if you want a hamburger.  Marriage, to me, is like eating meat.  It’s this old-timey tradition that no one remembers we don’t have to do anymore.”  Several Hollywood couples have felt this way and have exchanged eternity rings instead of engagement rings.

All that said, Silverman is now dating Alec Sulkin, writer for FOX’s Family Guy.  She adds:  “I really do believe in love.  I’ve experienced it, I’ve had it, so I know it’s real.”
