Tori and Dean Planning to Renew Vows

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are definitely fighting those rumors that their marriage is about to fall apart. The reality TV couple have plans to renew their vows this weekend in a small, private ceremony. The couple originally got married on an exclusive island in Fiji. This vow renewal might also be because their first ceremony only included the bride and groom–no guests. “There is no divorce in our future, at all.” Spelling told Ellen Degeneres on her show last fall.

Spelling is meanwhile busy with her upcoming third book release, “uncharted terriTORI”. With the success of their latest season of the “Dean and Tori” series, we can expect that the couple will certainly be shooting another season. The couple met on the set of a film they were shooting together in 2005 in Ottawa, Canada. The two were actually still married, but separated from their spouses at the time when they started dating. Hopefully they had the courtesy to at least take their wedding rings off!  “After it happened I didn’t feel any regrets and I thought, and I thought, ‘I’m madly in love with this man that I’ve just met…and this is forcing me to really look at my marriage.”  Spelling once said.  Now the “happily married” couple have a son, 3, and a daughter, who turns 2 this summer.

Celeb Vow Renewals

It seems like celebrity vow renewals are the latest thing. From Mariah Carey to Tori Spelling to Heidi Klum, celebrities find the most creative ways possible to celebrate their marriage with grand themed parties, outlandish costumes and wacky (but expensive) gifts to each other. Here are some of our favorites.

Heidi Klum and Seal Heidi Klum and Seal. No list of celebrity vow renewals would be complete without this pair, who renew their vows each year with a lavish themed party! Last year it was a “Trailer Trash” themed vow renewal. And the pair are sure to pack a special punch for this year’s vows. The couple are also sure to make their party a special, private moment for their family. Seal says, “Each year, Heidi and I get remarried. It’s a great party, but for about an hour we go off on our own to a private beach. We sit there with the kids and read vows to each other as the sun sets. It’s a very special moment to us.
Tori and Dean Tori and Dean. This reality TV couple are making plans for a vow renewal this year. It would be their first and it also comes in the wake of a series of blowout fights televised on their reality series, Tori & Dean. Hopefully, it will strengthen their marriage, which Spelling insists is in a perfectly healthy state. The couple married in a private ceremony in Fiji, so this vow renewal will also give the pair a chance to invite many of their friends and family to the Los Angeles ceremony.

Mariah enjoys big celebrations with lots of bling, so it is no surprise that in this year’s vow renewal ceremony hubby Nick Cannon surprised her with some delicious bling: a Ring Pop made of white gold encrusted in white diamonds and pink sapphire. The pair love to renew their vows each year at lavish locations–with one year seeing them renew their vows in the Maldives, where Cannon gave Mariah three custom-made diamond rings to match her original engagement ring. Not bad!

How Did the Celebrities Propose?

Most celebs find the most romantic way possible to propose. Finding the right engagement ring and location are two crucial aspects to their success.  And in many cases, many celebs can’t help but choose lavish and imaginative engagement proposals.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Cruise wasted no time with his whirlwind romance with Katie Holmes. He popped the question while the two were dining at the Jules Verne Restaurant at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The pair had an elaborately staged candlelit wedding in Italy in 2006. It is not exactly known when Cruise proposed–some say early in the morning, some say over a candlelit dinner. What is known is that Cruise proposed to Holmes with a beautiful solitaire engagement ring.

The night included a horse-drawn carriage ride, where the couple followed a set of lights laid down for over half a mile. The pair finally arrived at an enclosure surrounded by decorated Christmas trees, where Dean got down on one knee and proposed.

In front of 7,000 fans at a “Legends of Bronze” event honoring several country legends. When his statue was unveiled, Brooks pointed out a curious feature: a wedding band that he requested the sculptor to include. Brooks then got down on one knee and proposed to girlfriend Trisha Yearwood. After the proposal, Yearwood commented: “All I can say is that I am so happy. What I am feeling right now I would wish on anyone.”

But before all that, Lachey proposed to Simpson during a private getaway on the Hawaiian coast. The proposal was, of course, televised for the couple’s reality show, “Newlyweds”.
Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon Ryan Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon. The couple were enjoying a very intimate vacation at the bed and breakfast, Planter’s Inn, in Charleston, South Carolina. This proposal was ultra-casual, yet quite romantic. Phillipe decided to make Witherspoon breakfast-in-bed. While serving her waffles with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, he presented her with an engagement ring and she said “yes”.
Jimmy Fallon and Nancy Juvonen Jimmy Fallon and Nancy Juvonen. Fallon proposed to girlfriend Juvonen at her family’s home at Lake Winnipisaukee, where the Katherine Hepburn film “On Golden Pond” was filmed. To add to the beautiful scenery, Fallon commissioned a one-0f-a-kind Neil Lane diamond engagement ring that would have had made any woman envious.
Vince Vaughn and Kyla Weber Vince Vaughn and Kyla Weber. Proposing to his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day, actor Vince Vaughn chose a date that he would not forget. He admitted on the Ellen show, “Valentine’s Day rolled around and I figured this is not a ship to be missed, because I will never forget this date.” Vaughn proposed to his 29 year-old real estate agent girlfriend with a gorgeous $125,000 4-carat diamond set in platinum.
Seal and Heidi Klum Seal and Heidi Klum. Few celebrity proposals can match the level of imagination and romance of Seal’s proposal to “Project Runway” host Heidi Klum. Seal chose a romantic mountaintop locale for his proposal–14,000 feet up in Whistler, B.C. Escorting Klum to an uncharted territory, Seal led Klum to a custom-built igloo atop a glacier, where he proposed to her with a ring and champagne. And with only two days before Christmas, it was the perfect time to make an announcement to all their family and friends!
Pink and Carey Hart Pink and Carey Hart. Not one to go by tradition, Pink took matters into her own hands and proposed herself to boyfriend Motocross racer, Carey Hart. Settled in the stands, Pink held up a sign that read “Will You Marry Me?” while Hart was in the middle of a race. When Hart didn’t stop, she flipped the sign to the other side, which read “I’m serious.” Hart immediately quit the race and ran over to accept the proposal.

Tori Spelling and Husband are “So Together”

Reality TV star and former 90210 castmate, Tori Spelling, appeared on the Ellen Degeneres Show this week with husband, Dean McDermott and was quick to dispel divorce rumors. The couple, who met on the set of a movie they were both filming in 2005, were definitely sporting their wedding rings on the show. Some would think it might be tough to look for engagement rings that would impress the daughter of multi-million dollar mogul, Aaron Spelling, but McDermott settled on a simple but extravagant diamond and sapphire ring.
Tori and Dean On the show, Spelling enthusiastically professed how the couple were definitely still in love. “Everyone has marital problems,” Spelling told Degeneres, “You know, you fight with your partner.” Spelling has delivered a seemingly endless stream of on-air updates on the status of her marriage to McDermott. Is the couple actually having problems or is it just happy coincidental intrigue that helps them promote their current reality TV show? Spelling had much of the same to say over a week while on the Today show, which conveniently centered around a clip of the couple in a heated fight on the fifth season of their hit show, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood. The clip shows Spelling telling Dean, “It’s like you got more and more unhappy and angry. I just want the old Dean back. I really do. I miss you so much.”

While earlier seasons of the reality TV show put more focus on them raising their children and running their bed and breakfast, this season focuses on them more as a couple. How would you and your partner fare if you were televised on reality TV?

Tori Spelling is Staying Married

Former 90210 star and reality TV sensation Tori Spelling is dismissing divorce rumors that have cropped up in this weeks tabloids and blogroll.  Leaked footage from their reality TV series, Tori & Dean, showed the couple in a major fight.  And on Monday’s Today show, Spelling insisted the pair are keeping the wedding rings on!  “We’re not headed for divorce.  We’re committed to each other and we’re committed to this family.  But you know we work on things just like everyone else.”

The pair met on the set of a movie they were both working on called Mind Over Murder in 2005.  McDermott proposed to her later that year on Christmas Eve in a horsedrawn carriage in New York City.  Her ring is said to be an extravagant diamond and sapphire ring, which is hardly something the daughter of multi-millionaire mogul Aaron Spelling wouldn’t be used to.

“We have our fights.  We have our ups and downs.  It’s a real relationship.” Spelling has said.  “Some issues have come up this season, and the cameras were there to catch it.  And I’m happy to put that out there to my fans, because we’re a normal, relatable couple.  We’re not perfect, and things happen.”

Spelling goes on to explain her ambivalent relationship with the cameras.  “I know show business has been my life, and I love doing it.  But I have this other side that wants to be the soccer mom and wants to live in a small town and take my kids in the carpool and be at home and cook dinner every night…I kind of wish I had both, that I could balance both.”
